Nita Black The Redhead at RedRover

Do you know Lori at Red Rover Sales & Marketing Company? RedRover and LaunchMemphis hosted a workshop today on "Developing a Dynamic Escalator Pitch". The format was interactive with participants developing a rough draft of their pitch, then practicing in small groups, refining the pitch, and then lunch with one-on-one feedback from experts. This was well worth the time and $25. Just the first power point slide explained why it's important. Per RedRover, your pitch is the defining moment in… Continue

Nita Black National Boss's Day - Who is YOUR Boss?

According to Wikipedia, Patricia Bays Haroski registered "National Boss's Day" with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1958. She was working as a secretary for State Farm Insurance Company in Deerfield, Illinois at the time and chose October 16 because she forgot that the birthday of her boss, who was her father, was actually on the 16th. Four years later in 1962, Illinois Governor Otto Kerner backed Haroski's registration and officially proclaimed the day. National Boss's Day has become an intern… Continue

Kiesa Kay Oleander Cottage in the South of France

I would like some good tips on how to advertise my cottage, www.oleandercottage.com, a retreat in the South of France. I simply don't know how to generate interest among people I don't know! It's a two-bedroom cottage with private inground swimming pool and private garden. Several of my friends have stayed there for retreats, enjoying the good wines and great cheeses, the peace and quiet, and the accessibility to castles, lakes, and open air markets. Now, though, I really want to find people to… Continue

Marjorie Bostwick Tablet Disguised As Vitamin

There is a runaway tablet in your body disguised as a multi-vitamin supplement. You've swallowed it and it has only gotten as far as your colon, where it will probably hang out for a time undissolved. What a waste of money, but you don't know that. One of the questions people ask when it comes to taking supplements is "Does it make any real difference which supplements you consume?" Up until 2007 the answer would have been "No". Lee Streater Best Sells Practices! From Don Hutson

February 11, 2009 The one thing we all know now is that selling in today’s market with yesterday’s approaches is a non-starter! The bar of excellence, it seems, is being raised on us daily. Our prospects are more sophisticated and demanding; our competition is keener (the losers have already perished, so only the strong remain!); and client needs are changing all the time; The essence of our existence is that we must be better than ever at needs-analysis, trust-building, solution-development, a… Continue

Dr. Seuss once said to "be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." In our favorite childhood fables, from The Ugly Duckling to The Wizard of Oz, there is a prevalent theme: be happy with the person that you are. Even though we've been bombarded with this sentiment since we were young, it becomes increasingly difficult to be satisfied with our lives as we age. Life becomes more complicated with heightened stress f… Continue

Eileen R. Borris Martin Luther King on Forgiveness

This is a sermon delivered by Martin Luther King at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church on Christmas of 1957. It deals with the question of how do we learn to love our enemies. For King the answer lies in forgiveness. In celebration of Martin Luther King day I wanted to share his inspiring words. "First, we must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. It is impossible even to begin the act of loving one's enemies without th… Continue

Ms. Laura Coulter One Step at a Time

“The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.” -Stephen Covey Managing our time requires tough choices. That means that sometimes we may have to say NO to important activities in order to attend to even more important activities that will enable us to accomplish higher priorities. When we embark on a journey and we aren't sure how to get there, we typically jot down travel directions. So why are we so resistant to jotting down personal or professional goals or choices that would pr… Continue

Relationships and marriage are not easy. They take work to cultivate. Most often well meaning people come together and may not have the skills or the role models to know how to have a good marriage or relationship. Remember to do 5 acts of kindness a day and to practice forgiveness. When we are kind to one another our emotional bonds become stronger and our… Continue

I’ve been involved with the work of forgiveness for a very long time. In a way it came very unexpectedly when I began studying different spiritual disciplines, in particular, A Course in Miracles. These dynamics are laid out in the story of Adam and Eve which can be seen as a mythological account of the birth of consciousness, whose cornerstones… Continue

Lee Streater The Leadership Genius of Abraham Lincoln

Article By: Tony Alessandra www.Alessandra.com The Leadership Genius of Abraham Lincoln Abraham Lincoln really was born in a log cabin. The fact that he went on to become President -- and to lead the country through the most difficult period of its history -- is truly remarkable.
