It is exciting to be able to connect with some very wonderful people. I would like to introduce myself to
you.
I am extremely committed to helping people understand the power and importance of forgiveness.
Beginning in the 1980’s I have been on the frontlines of forgiveness from the personal to the
political. As a political psychologist and Director of Training and Program Development for the Institute for
Multi-Track Diplomacy I help to rebuild war torn countries. My work focuses on reconciling
centuries old conflicts and finding ways to forgive. As a clinical psychologist I have published
many articles and books on the topic of forgiveness from the personal to the political. His Holiness the Dalai Lama wrote a foreword to both of my books on forgiveness. The first book, “Forgiveness the Ultimate Freedom,” has been bought in five foreign countries. “Finding Forgiveness: A 7 Step Program for Letting Go of Anger and Bitterness” my second book is a self-help book published by McGraw-Hill in October 2006.
I speak on the nuances of conflict and forgiveness. By invitation at the United Nations I spoke to nongovernmental organizations world wide about forgiveness and reconciliation. I have shared the podium with such prominent people as Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland at the Aspen Institute and facilitated an Interfaith Dialogue with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and other prominent religious figures living in Arizona. I have made over 30 radio and Television appearances debunking myths about forgiveness and more recently have appeared in Real Simple and O Magazine. I am a spokesperson for Fetzer Institute’s Campaign for Love and Forgiveness where I speak for Fetzer and contribute to their forgiveness blog.
I am sharing all of this with you because I have developed a website dedicated to helping people learn about and be inspired by forgiveness. Many people have forgiveness stories to share which serve as an inspiration to other people struggling with knowing how to forgive. I am asking people who have forgiveness stories to share to submit them to the site in the hopes that these stories will help others. If you have a story that you would like to share, or if you know of anyone who may have a story of forgiveness or a question on forgiveness please ask them to go to the site. I may be posting a Q&A on forgiveness as well. Some of the stories will be very personal and hopefully others will be stories of people who have lived through civil war or genocide and have been able to forgive. I welcome you to submit your own story and appreciate any help you can give in spreading the word to others. The link is www.dreileenborris.com. Then go to the navigation button at the bottom of the home page which says Individual Forgiveness and then hit Tell Your Story of Forgiveness. Thank-you so very much.
Warmly,
Eileen Borris
